❓ Q&A

1. My paper is already published. Can I still participate?
Yes. As long as the publication date is on or before August 31, 2027, it has not previously received a SimWorks paper award, and it meets the application requirements.

2. For multi-author papers, who receives the prize?
The prize will be given to the first author or corresponding author (as designated during registration). The organizer will transfer funds to only one account; internal distribution among the team is the responsibility of the authors.

3. Can I use other software (e.g., COMSOL, Lumerical) for part of the work and SimWorks for another part?
Yes. However, at least one core simulation result must be independently completed by SimWorks and clearly distinguished in the paper.

4. Is the software free?
Faculty and students at academic institutions can apply for our Education Plan on the official website, which offers up to 6 months of full-featured free trial. Other users can participate in the Free Plan, which provides 13.5 total free computing hours per month for cloud-based simulations.
